How to Combine Multiple Images into One PDF
Put several photos or scans into a single PDF in the right order, with tips for forms, receipts and ID cards.
Combining images is the usual fix when a form asks for "one PDF" but you have separate photos: the pages of a document, a stack of receipts, or the front and back of an ID.
Steps
- Open the image to PDF converter and add all your images at once, or add more later with the Add more button.
- Check the numbers on the thumbnails. The order you add them is the starting order.
- Use the arrow buttons to fix the order and the rotate button for sideways pages.
- Choose a page size, margin and quality, then click Convert to PDF.
Get the order right before you convert
Renaming files 01, 02, 03 before you add them makes the order easy to check. It is much quicker to fix a page now than to redo the whole PDF later.
Choose a page size that suits the content
If your images are different sizes, "Same as image" gives each page its own size, which looks uneven in a PDF viewer. Choosing A4 or US Letter makes every page the same size and centres each image with your chosen margin.
Front and back of an ID or card
This tool puts one image on each page. If a form wants both sides on a single page, place both photos on one image in an editor first, then convert that image.
Keep the file size manageable
Many photos add up quickly. Try Balanced quality first, and read our guide on making a PDF from images smaller if a portal has an upload limit. The converter accepts up to 100 images per PDF.
Check before you send
Scroll through the finished PDF. Look for pages in the wrong order, sideways pages and edges that were cut off. It takes a minute and avoids a rejected submission.
